  Schön gereifter Riesling aus einem nicht einfachen Jahr, der mich positiv überrascht hat. Gelbe Früchte, etwas Mineralik, fein. Alles gut beisammen. Trinkt sich jetzt super.

  The fruit had really faded and as a result the best description for this wine bland.

  Green apple, pear, mineral, slightly green note, lemony finish, bit of sweetness and honey as well. Nice.

  Direkt nach dem Öffnen in der Nase reifer mürber Apfel und Hefegebäck-Noten. Mit der Zeit kommt etwas Melone dazu und es wird sehr Riesling-typisch. Am Gaumen kommt sehr viel zusammen: einerseits viel Extrakt (hätte ich im ersten Moment für Zucker gehalten, das geht aber weg) und etwas Cremiges, andererseits ist der Wein sehr elegant und keinesfalls eine Wuchtbrumme. Die Säure ist jederzeit da, sehr schön eingebunden, und dazu gibt es den für mich Dönnhoff-typischen dunklen Kern im Wein, der auch eine gehörige Prise Salz abgibt.

  One of my cellar wines I brought back to my home recently, A VDP.Erste Lage bottle, pnp, showing a mature colour in the glass, somewhat yellowgolden, fine aromas of ripe peach and mango, good balance on the midpalate, more creamy than most of the other Dönnhoff bottlings, the soil, quartzite with some pebbles,a little more residual sugar than the current bottlings from this vineyard, but Dönnhoff remains Dönnhoff, Helmut or Cornelius, you always get an great example of Nahe Riesling! Enjoy or hold for some more years, **(*-****?), 91,92(+?)
