Lightweight Riesling feinherb (mixture between dry and off dry). Reduced nose, smooth, only 10 % Alc. Not giving much, but easy to drink. I would call this a beginner wine. Quality is good, but for this kind of wine, 11 € is way too much, as there is too much competition in the 6-7 € area (e.g. Metzger Riesling 'well done' 2014).
Tasted the whole 2014 Van Volxem Lineup last week and pretty much all wines had a reduced nose. But not in a good elegant 'Dönhoff' way, more in a boring way. So I only bought two for drinking at home. This was the first one. Glad I've done this tasting, as I discovered the Zwiesel 1872 wine classics select pinot noir glasses, which go really well with sweet and high class Riesling.
