  • Better than my previous bottle…double decanted after an hour+ then taken to a friend’s house and tasted over 2+ hours. Initially it seemed quite bricked but with air this did improve rather significantly. after 2+ hours of air the bricking brightened but didn’t disappear. Nose is very very fragrant with notes ranging from red florals to spices, tart cherry and earthy elements. Nice depth and complexity but lacking the next level to really show as exceptional. Nonetheless good with pork ribs and grilled steak.

  • WIML94

    Tasted non blind.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of birch, black cherries and black berries. Flavors of boysenberries, raspberries and cherries. Tart acidity, resolved tannin, full bodied. Drink now.

  • Double decanted off its sediment about 4.5 hours before service at the restaurant. Aromas of cherry, roasted game, red fruit, florals and spice. Soft tannins with fine acidity and flavors of black fruit, mint, berry and spice. Paired exquisitely with the prosciutto-wrapped coniglio entrée at Osteria Langhe. 94-95 pts.

  • Purchased from a retailer of other people’s cellars several years ago. Decanted at 3pm and tasted over 7 hours. Thus was surprisingly bricked and oxidized though the fill looked good and the cork was sturdy. Nose had mushrooms, earth, licorice and a bit of plum. Fairly complex on the palate with a clearly earthy profile but lacking in depth and seeming a bit “dirty”, perhaps also Brett affected. Somewhat port-like especially on the finish. Somewhat “pruney” and not really enjoyable though somewhat interesting. Disappointing.

  • This was wine of the night hands down. We didn't give it the respect it deserved. It took a little over an hour to open but when it did, classic Rabaja red fruit and POWER. Delicious touch by the Rocca family. Well done! Stunning wine. Just now getting to its prime. Decant!
