  Very pretty nose of violets, roasted eggplant, fresh raspberry and sour cherry. Spicy palate yet pure fruit and a subtle minerality underneath. Good, lively finish that seems a bit smoky and nutty. Firm tannins. This could probably hold a few years. A tough vintage but great effort. This vintage contained some La Cueva del Contador, Contador and La Vina de Andres fermented in small oak vats and aged in French oak barriques for 16 months.

  Color cereza picota bien cubierto, ribete violáceo oscuro, capa alta y fina lágrima tintada. Intensos aromas en nariz con un predominio de la fruta roja madura y algo verde, frambuesa y fresones silvestres, toques de fruta negra con grosellas negras, hierbas frescas y mentolados, marcado perfil licoroso, especias dulces en los que destacan el clavo, la canela en rama muy seca y toque de nuez moscada, resina fresca y terruño fresco de fondo. Potente en su entradan boca, muestra una astringencia bastante dura, suave recorrido pero potente nervio y con mucha garra, se muestra algo duro y díficil, amplitud y medio volumen, buena acidez, intenso, estrecho, regaliz negro, los tostados rugosos con su barrica aún por integrarse en el conjunto y unos taninos duros, intenso, corpulento y muy persistente. Final muy largo, postgusto de fruta negra madura y retronasal licoroso y ahumado.
  Está en un momento muy duro. Para guardar un largo tiempo.
