Lighter in body than many 2012 vintage Pinot noirs from the McMinnville AVA but drinks like silk. Interested to try it down the road but drinking well right now.

Nice color, slightly darker than most at this tasting. Nose was dark fruits/cherry and earth. Palate was black cherry, plum, some savory notes, spices and herbs.
Nice vintage, just starting to show. Should continue to evolve for 2-3 years.

Really like this. The 2012's are strikingly Sonoma in their presentation, still with some of that Oregon "uniqueness." Great QPR. Need to find more! BTW for this particular wine, I buy, I drink. It could potentially improve with time in cellar, yet, no bottles are probably going to get that chance. Very nice!

As the helpful person at VinChicago said, the 2012 Oregon pinot noirs were much more Sonoma in nature than they were the typical Oregon. He was right. There's more red fruit, sweet oak, fullness and overall explosiveness, with an underlying smoothness, than you would usually find in an Oregon pinot. Again, think RRV. It opened up over a couple of hours, and then set into the basic forest floor bouquet that is indicative of a classic Burgundy. Yet, it wasn't overpowering, and there was none of the barnyard funk you sometimes get. I just enjoyed smelling the wine. Beautiful food wine, that I enjoyed drinking it by itself.

Oregon Pinot Barrel Auction: First Day Tastings...3 Stops+Dinner (Alexana Vineyards, Adelsheim, Penner Ash...Dinner at Bethel Heights): First experience with this wine, I think this winery is the oldest in McMinnville...
