  • Hot, alcohol nose when first opened at room temperature. Modest fruit, tart, and decent tannins but I think it’s time to drink up.

2 hrs later: opened up with nice fruit now. Cherries and almonds. Bumped the score 2 pts up.

  • Dont drink much port (but I’d like to) , so here we go…
Nose - heady, some berry but mostly heat.
Mouth - sweet, berry fruit, brown sugar, but what it lacks is acidity to make it truly interesting. While this was pleasant would much prefer an auslese with this level of sugar and concomitant acidity to rip my tastes buds. Here it’s a bit of a sweet (alcoholic) meh…

  • Lovely but not complex. What you expect a good but not outstanding vintage port to be. Nose full of fruits, moderate alcohol, and solid tannins in the mid pallet that didn’t linger long on the finish. Enjoyable but not spectacular - I would drink more for a reasonable price.

Open and decanted 4 hours before serving. Retained a couple of glasses in decanter for 24 hours and the structure was still solid - it hadn’t mellowed out much. This may have further aging potential

  • Deep dark center, red rim with modest signs of age.
Sweet, very ripe plums, blackberry, alcohol, a touch nutty.
Smooth and ripe, dark fruit (black plums, blueberries), sweet (but not overwhelming), good acidity and tannin still, Chinese food (for what that's worth), good finish.
Much better than expected after first taste (cold out of cellar). Drinking okay now, but could be better in a couple of years.

  • Quel beau vin harmonieux. Selon moi, il est dans sa plus belle fenêtre de dégustation. Beaucoup de vivacité, dans un équilibre parfait des saveurs, de l'alcool et de la sucrosité. Superbe maturité au profit de la grande finesse du produit. Bravo!
