This is a Zinfandel for Burgundy lovers, varietally true with beautiful nuanced brambly fruit, well-concentrated without ponderous extraction and kept bright with good acidity. It keeps growing in complexity with air, picking up hints of tangerine skin and white pepper after a few hours.

Nose of sappy red fruits, white flowers and a subtle pine note. The perfume really intensifies with air.
Flavors of red fruits, spice, white pepper, and a hint of pine. Medium weight with a copious dose of acid. Seems to gain a bit of weight as it remains open. Lingering finish of white pepper.
Made with organic grapes, 13.5% abv.

Night 1: A nice, medium weight Zinfandel that is on the red-fruited side of the spectrum. Distinct black pepper note added interest. Plenty of acid; a food Zin, rather than the more typical "cocktail" Zin. Tannins were noticeable, but refined and suggest that this wine should age for several years.
Night 2: The additional air has allowed more of the fruit to shine. The fruit is now approaching purple, but still on the red-side of the spectrum. Even with the extra fruit, the acid keeps everything in check. While my hunch is that most casual drinkers would prefer the wine with extended aeration, I liked the wine on both days and appreciated the change.
Fruit comes from a vineyard that practices organic/biodynamic farming.

More akin to a cool climate Grenache than a Zinfandel. Didn'tsseem to have changed much on the second day. 13.5% ABV.
