  • Such a unique wine. Flavors typical of a Zinfandel, with bramble fruit, shading more red than purple but then there’s white floral and spice notes which add a beguiling complexity. Nice structure that suggests it will age, but delicious now. A lighter, more elegant expression of the grape that is simultaneously familiar, yet different. Schroedinger's Zinfandel.

  • Opened one hour in advance. Aroma of black fruit and earth. Complex mix of flavors includes cassis, orange, allspice. Bittersweet orange zest finish.

Pure flavors, robust but balanced, firm backbone. Unusual flavor profile, for zin or anything else, but it works and it works well. Great QPR.

  • Taste of Humboldt - Briceland Wines (My Place - Washington, DC): Medium ruby color. Nose shows cherries and currants mixed with clove, spiced tea and raspberry leaf. Juicy, fresh and lively on the palate with smooth tannins and crisp acidity. Raspberry and black cherry fruit mixes so well with flavors of cola, earth, leather, roses and clove. Delicious stuff.

  • Pours a deep plum. Nose of red and purple fruits, white flowers, which is a signature at Briceland, and a hint of spice. The palate crunchy red fruits that are slightly tart with a wallop of spice Exceptionally lithe for a Zinfandel, this wine is light+ bodied and silky. If you’re looking for sweet and jammy, this wine isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a unique interpretation of the grape, grab a bottle or three. This has the structure to last a decade from vintage. Winemaker Andrew Morris has done it again.
