Youthful for it's age. Aromas of blueberry cobbler amd hint of white pepper. Showing tons of perfectly ripe blacberry and creme de cassis with a long finish. The oak has integrated but provides support, creamy vanilla. Really tasty! I recently purchased this from the Domaine Serene tasting room as a library release and opened for Mother's Day dinner.

No decant. Dark maroon, almost black in color. Thick legs running down the glass. Nose has that wonderful peppery/smokey smell I associate with Washington reds. Delicious flavors of blueberry, black pepper, smoke, and chewy tannins. I had thought this would be a fairly mature wine, but it seems still quite youthful. Intitial rating upon opening/first taste is a 91. Will report back once it's been open awhile.

This is a label I had not heard of before it was recommended to me. From the label, "The Seven Hills Vineyard is located in the Walla Walla Valley Appellation in Northeastern Oregon. Planted to Phelps clone syrah...Rockblock Syrah is a collaboration of Domaine Serene's owners, Ken and Grace Evvenstad and their winemaker Tony Rynders." Decanted about 45 minutes, this wine had a nose of limestone, chalk and vanilla. In the middle there was extremely pure fruit of raspberries, vanilla and spice with a long, aromatic finish. 14.1 % alcohol but this seems a touch low. Another year in the bottle would really bring this one together. About ~ $38.

Still drinking beautifully. Perfect fine tannins and fruit still there. Much better than I expected.
