Colour: purple, young 1st nose: closed, a bit alcoholic that match the hot 2003. 2nd nose: melt liquorice, wood, smoke, sweet blueberry note emerged after an hour Palate: ripe fruit, concentrated, very woody and smoky that match the nose, mouthcoating drying tannin that is a bit too hard; After one hour, more ripe fruit, sweeter and softer tannin, still smoky, a little bit creamy, medium-bodied Finish: medium smoky tannic finish Overall: good claret but not very outstanding. Needs 1.5 hour of decanting. I like its smoky character which makes it goes really well with red meat. This is a food-accompanying wine that is not supposed to stand alone.

From magnum. Young, purplish colour; discrete nose; moderate to good intensity on the palate, with some upside still. Classic claret - nicely balanced, nothing over the top (a good achievement considering the vintage), but nothing very exciting.

Mulling spices heavy on clove and anise on the nose still lots of fruit on the palate with a long smokey finish definitely not dead yet!
