Says 14% on the label but the diners at the lunch table all noted a bit of alcohol heat. However the fruit really stood out. More plum than red berry, excellent body enhanced by the oak (was that a whiff of coconut or did I imagine it?) smooth tannins, nice line of acid and very good length. I might have opened this one a bit early but it is drinking really well. Went down a treat with the rack of lamb and roast vegetables. 92+

Hunter Valley 2016 Trip #1 (Hunter Valley, Australia): Chocolate, blackberry and raspberry. Sweet fruit on the palate, there is some nice speak from the acidity. In a slightly bigger style but I'm happy with how it is sitting at the moment.

Pleasing how this has developed. A long life but at the start of its drinking window…which will reach into the 2030s.
