Very nice 1er Cru from a rather challenging vintage. Quite opulent nose with present but pleasant oak, ripe fruit and a touch of smokiness. Unfortunately, the palate couldn’t keep up with this: although nicely structured and held together by a wonderful acidity, it lacked some punch for my taste. Got a bit fuller with more air on day 2, though. Overall a nice Meursault one does not have to take out a loan for.

Château de Meursault Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Ripe orchard and stone fruit with toasted hazelnut and marzipan notes. Easy to enjoy already now, while also showing a nervous energy I like on finish. I prefer the 2014 overall, but this is not far behind.

Smells of wood on the nose, but not in a bad way, it was just opened. Crunchy and compacted on the palate, very built up, good structure without over doing it. As good Charmes.

Chave Hermitage & Brisket (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Apple and pear aromas and flavors with toasted toasted nut hints. Good weight, length and balance. Good to enjoy now.

Chateau de Meursault Masterclass with Stephne Follin-Arbelet. (wine ark alexandria): stone fruit, apple, cream, slight vanilla, butter…juicy, fleshy and enormously quaffable. Travels long and has a good backbone and quite a mineral core. Nice.
