  Drunk at home with friends to accompany chicken in marsala and mushroom sauce. This bottle had been brought by one of my dinner guests. He and his wife had been presented with it at the winery which we'd all visited together just a few weeks earlier - it was given on the day of their 50th wedding anniversary, so it was kind of them to save it for us all to share on the day. We knew from our winery visit that it was going to be good! Deep ruby colour. The nose is fruity, nutty, with cassis and tarragon. The palate is dry, well balanced, riper red berries evident and a hint of cassis sweetness. Overall, an excellent wine, drinking perfectly now.
