  A bit thin on opening, but opened up reasonably well. Overall, a decent value at this price point, but not necessarily reflective of Shane Finley's pedigree.
  The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis) and forest floor. It tastes like black currant (cassis). The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

I would rate this an 87, not quite what I thought it would be. Just different.

The nose was all dirty raspberry but sort of had a funky gym locker note. Didn't affect the palate of the wine. The entry shows sharp acidity with good raspberry and "drunken strawberry" notes. The middle is darker, a little more earthy. Getting a wild mushroom note. The finish is brighter, filled with red fruits. Aftertaste reminded me of Cotswold cheese, and I went to cut some Irish herb cheese and it was a sink/faucet kind of relationship. This wine is good, but I wouldn't say that it will age well, and agree with the 2016-2018 drink by dates. So drink up!
