  • The nose took more than 1 hr to slowly open up. Classic and elegant bouquet of blackberries, toasted bell pepper, oregano, violet, wet earth and leathery undertones. Very nicely balance between ripe fruits, herbaceousness and oak. Palate is wonderfully perfumed, dry black fruits, hot stones, fresh herbs, burnt tobacco and subtle sweet smokey oak revealing one after another. Very creamy texture but the acidity to provide the backbone is always there to keep the structure up. Seamless transitions from entry to mid-palate to a creamy finish. The oak is well integrated and the wine is superbly balanced. Nothing is standing out alone, every elements work together to present a harmonious personality, which allows you to slowly discover the layers of flavour in the palate. Starting to drink well after 2 hours of decanting and it will last for another 5-8 years.

  • Wasn't supposed to drink another bottle yet, but then my partner wanted to open a wine when I was not there, and this was lying around. My mistake really. Still too young - I've now put the rest of the bottles away for a while.

  • Too young for my tastes. It really needs a couple of years to mellow, having said that there is enough structure to suggest that once the fruit and acidity sort themselves out this could become quite decent. It's going to last for a few years.

  • I wish it was easy to tell which wines should be left for day 2. Good but JH 95 very generous.

  • 18 months oak

Fruit driven style; ripe and red with floral notes. Soft smooth tannins, fruit continuing on the palate, finishing spicy
