There is something very special about quality wines from Margaret River. Have several times in blind tastings thought I had drunk Bordeaux. Margaret River is a slightly cooler region, which creates wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines. Moss Wood belongs to the region's top 5 producers, this is their prestige Cabernet. Typical notes of cassis, blackberry, licorice, leather and a fantastic minerality. So well balanced and nice complexity, great wine! Will of course improve with time.

Deep and dark both colour and flavour. Nice and balanced. Almost slightly burnt fruit flavour. Dark and red fruits. Still very young, fresh and primary. (Not a patch on the 2010 La Conseillante drunk as comparison)

Cabernet (and blends) celebration (Ben and Estella's place, Parramatta): Served blind. Clean, blackcurrant, brambles, sweet spice, toast. Medium plus intensity acidity feels adjusted, tight tannins are grainy, sweet spice, blackcurrant, alcohol warmth on the finish. Nice fruit but the alcohol and acid are out of whack. Hmm.

Wow seriously impressed. Best Aussie cab? Certainly in this range.
