Pours a pale ruby. Baked/burnt red fruits - strawberries, red currants, raspberries on the nose. Also cedar wood/oak and green bell pepper. Medium + bodied with medium acidity, medium tannins and medium + intensity of flavor. Palate mostly the same as on the nose but fruit moving more into the "preserved" category. Medium + finish. This wine was $15 and represents an amazing QPR.

Drank at the Sommtime bar in NYC which just opened in our neighborhood. Excellent value wine. This was drinking very well young. Hard backbone from the cab franc, but the tannins weren't harsh and the wine itself showed nice floral and earthy tones. Enjoyed.

Very nice Chinon value. Tobacco and green pepper notes with a backbone of tart cherries.
