  • Definitely mellowed. It's still pretty, lots of black cherry. No sour notes to speak of. The bold backbone I recall has softened significantly. I don't know if it would benefit from any more aging. I feel it's past peak drinking but still excellent.

  • Decanted 3 hours. Elegant. Strawberries and raspberries, and some spice. Not particularly complex but nice

  • Very nice wine that is drinking well now. Red fruits — strawberry and ripe raspberries. Maybe some rose petals. Very long finish. We had this with venison and morels and it was overwhelmed by the food. Probably would be better with a simpler roast chicken or salmon.

  • Restrained on entry, the style I remember from the tasting room. Nose of red fruits especially strawberry, raspberry, and pomegranate or something a touch spicy and exotic. Elegant, silky, high toned entry. Body and power develops mid palate. The wine has only become a touch more secondary if my memory serves me. Agree the complexity when young isn't there now. More of the soil and leather that I remember. Im drinking at a warmer temp now though, sigh. Clarity improved with another pour 6 hours late after vacuvin. Finishes with a touch of bitter. Longish finish and great flavor. Nice effort in my opinion to make a silk glove iron fist wine. Not cheap but I'll enjoy it for what it is - a very interesting Williamette. I will try the next one in a few years, no hurry.

  • Elegant, restrained, light, with good lift. But a bit diluted on the palate. Think this was better when young, with more complexity - now it is a tad simple, with primaries too subdued and no tertiaries to speak of. I doubt complexity/tertiary notes will emerge with time.
