Saturday Club -- August 23, 2008 (Mike Brown's Claymont Corner Deli): Still healthy carnet color, fading at the rim. A bit oldish on the nose, it's dusty with dried fruit and dried flowers. On the palate, it's very dry. Again, dried fruits and a bit of bitterness to the finish. Not unlike an older Chianti. Interesting, but drying out a bit.

Medium violet color, slightly orange rim, with sediments present. Aromas are prune, raisin and cherry, without being jammy. A little spicy, with hints of star anise. Coffee toastiness. Mellow tanins, fruity acidity. Velvety mouthfeel. Very pleasant medium-plus finish. A seductive wine, to enjoy slowly.

Heritage: Very nice flavorful mouth, ripe but acidic berries, great t’s, med. bod. I really liked this. Smooth, character, nice flavor, w/out being too heavy.

Dry, in nose and on palate. After decanting, opened up. Time to drink. Much like an older Chianti, lots of dry fruit. Nice balanced with a Paella.
