  • Deep and very concentrated burnished golden yellow color. Rich and powerful, but also somewhat one-note nose with sweet aromas of honey, lemon curd, some dried apricots and a hint of rowanberry marmalade. The wine is very full-bodied, ridiculously sweet and very unctuous with super-rich flavors of honey, pear jam, some overripe apple, a little bit of dried apricots and a hint of candied pineapple. The wine is only medium in acidity, which makes the wine feel very sticky with rather ponderous overall mouthfeel, lacking freshness. The finish is very sweet and quite long with intense flavors of lemon curd, candied orange zest, honey, canned pineapple with syrup and all, a hint of dried stone fruits and a touch of rowanberry marmalade. The aftertaste feels very thick and sticky.

A super-rich, unctuous and mouthfillingly sweet dessert wine with a lot of concentration and intensity, but unfortunately rather little acidity to back it all up. Overall this is quite good, but doesn't really reach the levels of its best German counterparts. Needs to be served cold enough to boost the acidity. As the wine is still very youthful, it might get better with more cellar age.
