100% Merlot grown in the sandy loam & alluvial fan soils of the Units 7 & 10 Vyds of the Wahluke Slope; Aged 16 mos in 60% FR & 40% AM oak; 14.1% ABV, "Dry", 0.56 g/100 ml T.A., & 3.7 pH; 1,810 cases produced.
N: ATTRACTIVE berries with notes of plums, spice, & flowers
P: LM body; NICE frt braced by an acidity which, while not even REMOTELY excessive, is THE defining character as it morphs into the LONG, beautifully balanced finish with an elegant aspect (& a refined swtness) to the VERY *minimal* tannins. Did MUCH better as a sipper than it did with the Roast Boneless Leg of Lamb. EXC- as a sipper, VG with at LEAST the above, so my VG+ overall? Drink now & through '19 (as per the winery's own "Tasting Profile"), & MAY have worked better with the lamb a yr or so ago. Bronzes @ the ff '16 contests: S.F. Chronicle Int'l & The TEXSOM Int'l.

Started tight and very chalky, but opened up while retaining the soft chalky taste that I don't find that often in wine, but that I really enjoy. A really good Merlot for the price.

This is hard to beat for the money. Rich strawberry, Washington chalk, light tobacco, and black fruit.
