  Better than previous bottle, the fruit was fresher. Smooth and stylish. Most impressive feature was the pure violet nose and taste of this wine. Really tasted like essence of violet, with also some leather and cinnamon like flavors. Excellent

  A blend of 80 percent Montepulciano and 20 percent Sangiovese. Aged in new barriques for 12 months. Deeply concentrated ruby-red color (still very young, no traces of evolution). Seductive nose with aromas of red fruits, vanilla, sweet oak and some spicy undertones. On the palate, the wine shows a good depth and a nice acid structure, but the tannins are a bit obtrusive and quite dominant. Persistent finish. Will likely improve over the next couple of years.
  
  Een blend van 80 percent Montepulciano en 20 percent Sangiovese. Rijping van 12 maanden op nieuwe barriques. Diepe geconcentreerde robijnrode kleur (nog steeds jong, met weinig evolutie). Zeer aansprekend bouquet van rood fruit, vanille, zachte eiktoetsen en wat kruidige ondertonen. Smaak : goede diepgang, structuur en aciditeit, maar de tannine is nogal robuust en redelijk dominant. Aanhoudende nasmaak. Zal allicht toegankelijker worden met nog enkele jaren kelderrust.

  From memory (+/- one year ago): I loved this wine. I was convinced that 2002 was an off-vintage, that was before a tasted this beauty... It was drinking perfectly, with enough structure and fruit to age for 5+ years (but why wait?).
