  • A minimal intervention Garnacha from vineyards located at the altitude of 850 m. 14% alcohol.

Luminous, translucent dark ruby red color with a hint of youthful blue hue. Very open, fragrant and somewhat natty nose with wild, vibrant aromas of Campari-like chinotto zest, fresh cranberries, some strawberry juice, a little bit of sappy greenness, light funky brett character and a hint of brambly raspberry. The wine is light-bodied, crunchy and acid-driven on the palate with fresh and wild flavors of ripe wild strawberries, stony mineral bitterness, some tart cranberry tones, a little bit of fragrant natty funk, floral hints of roses and a touch of brambly blackberry. Despite its light and fresh overall character, the structure doesn't rely solely on the bright, high acidity - the firm tannins show moderate sense of grip and grit. The gently grippy finish is bright but less vibrant and intense than the midpalate, falling a bit short with somewhat dull flavors of earthy spices, some stony mineral bitterness, a little bit of ripe strawberry and a hint of alcohol warmth. The fresh, crunchy fruit department seems to drop out from the aftertaste almost immediately.

A wonderfully fresh, bright and crunchy naturalist Garnacha with wonderful intensity and tasty, vibrant fruit. Overall the wine is very wonderfully drinkable, playful and full of freshness, but the short aftertaste takes a slight toll on the overall score, making the wine feel like it showed some of its potential without realizing fully. Nevertheless, this is a lovely iteration of Garnacha, quite reminiscent of naturalist Cru Beaujolais from Morgon or Fleurie with its bright, crunchy fruit, prominent mineral tones and impressive structure of high acidity and firm tannins. A lovely wine that might continue to develop in a cellar, but is drinking wonderfully right now. Solid value at 12,95€.

  • I don't know, was it reduction or simply it was too young? Initially pronounced stink that was either barnyard or chemical notes, not that pleasurable. With time it somewhat dissipated (but not entirely). Light, fruity body, simple drinking wine. Reminded me of a Beaujoulais cru, but the nose didn't deliver.
