You have to let this wine open up - it is a priorat - and enjoy it while it is doing it! Initial comments at 30 min after decant; secondary at 1 hour after decant; tertiary at 2 hours after. To the nose: initially, quite fruity with blackberry/cassis and red raspberry > plum, black cherry. Very slight oak and leather. No forest or brush. Secondary, the fruit fades with plum and black cherry stepping up and spice peeks through. Tertiary, forest floor joins in. On the palate: similar progression with blackberry and black raspberry with very slight cola, with tannins in threads and no veg. The spice is mostly white pepper. Not very long. In the second glass, much spicier (add rosemary? thyme?), less fruit, and drier. On the third glass (tertiary), further increase in the spice with pepper as #1 but even paprika?? Forest floor/veg and underbrush evident now. Alcohol is notable now. Length is much greater. Enjoy it as it transitions while opening up! I may have converted the Pinot Princess!?!
