La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Late night small glass. Fully mature red cherry with sweet baking spice, so very classically Vosne to me. Good+ weight with charming nuance from a great vintage. There was some discussion of whether this is the same wine as his brother Henri's Echezeaux, but I am fairly certain these were always separate wines.
La Paulee 2020 - Gala Dinner (Pier 60): We opened and tasted and wondered if Henri made this wine? I served to many Jayer enthusiasts and did not reach a conclusion. However, this is a TEXTBOOK example of terroir, everything expected is there, with the dried flowers, sweet spice, ethereally elapsing through every breath. Example to remind me why Burgundy. Strong contender for WOTN. 96-97
