  • Youthful pale gold appearance

Initially a whiff of old book dust! Sort of open and Riesling-like – a touch of oil or resin, more dust, citrusy lime, and with time a delicate though very present perfume of orange and violet flowers. Super precision and lift, develops more of that perfume, with a touch of hazelnut and a certain struck match flinty/reductive note (that seemed to build in intensity).

Tense and racy attack, intensely mineral at the front end. Tightly concentrated and this runs right through. Salty and stimulating, builds in richness but the acidity is dominant. Silky perfumed quality later on, finely leesy too. Yum.

  • Best bottle yet
Well Integrated with perfect balance - and the waxy lemon burst

  • Sulphur nose. Super tight. high acid, quartz mineral profile. I think this will age further. Amazing that it tastes so young and tight at 9 years under cork.

  • Has some petroleum reduction along with intense lemon and peach fruits. It is dense and relatively compact in the mouth. It is relatively lean through the mid-palate and really chalky, with loads of dry extract to the back end. Still very youthful.

  • Based on my previous TN, this bottle was decanted for 30 minutes, which allowed it to aerate and warm a bit. That definitely helped as this bottle showed a bit better than the previous.
There were notes of lemon, mineral, and a touch of tropical fruits on the nose. The medium bodied palate echoed the lemon as both crème and juice, added the minerality, then added touches of white fruit, and oak. The acidity was very vibrant, but thankfully, a touch less than the previous bottle. I'm not certain how this wine will develop with more time in the cellar, or present with a longer decant, but it certainly will hold.
