Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 92.5 points

  • Screwtop. Light yellow-green; medium-plus intensity aromatics, lime, schist, minerals, slight white stone fruit; palate is medium bodied, vibrant medium-plus acidity, off-dry but not sweet by any measure, white peach; finish is medium length. The vibrant acidity is a real strength to this wine, but it does lack the complexity and depth of some other flavors to make this an excellent auslese. It does also seem relatively light for an auslese. 91.

  • Pale lemon-yellow; nose is aromatic, but more lime, steel, flint, pear and virtually no richness or sweetness on the nose; palate is light bodied, medium-plus sweetness but vibrant effervescent acidity, some flint, a little tart and just slightly bitter grapefruit in the medium palate (good), balanced low alcohol (8%); medium-long finish, clean but persistent. For an auslese, superb overall with surprising elegance and freshness and easily paired with all types of cuisine. Impressive. 93-94+
