  Deep garnet color. Very tightly wound, even blank on the nose. Black cherry flavors and some bramble, with black pepper notes. Finishes with grippy moderate tannins. In a dumb phase.

  Decanted 45 mins ahead and sampled over the next hour. Black-cherry garnet color with purple flashes. Nice nose of red cherry, plum, bacon, tobacco, spices. Medium-bodied on the palate, with moderate acid balance trending ever so slightly toward the soft side: It's not soft, it's not near-soft, it's only potentially soft. The finish is short, with light tannins and a touch of licorice. Completely worthy, probably even better in a couple.
