Dark ruby with some bricking Aromatics medium +. Mild wood and oak spice. Green pepper, dark plum, pencil lead. Medium + body. Acid medium. Tannins medium +, soft grained and integrated. Alcohol medium+. Cocoa, black plum, bitter green bell/jalapeno pepper Finish has a medium length. Balance towards the alcohol. Overall well made, nice aromatics, a little too much alcohol for me with good fruit and pyrazines. Still has aging potential.

Decanted off its sediment and served. Crimson color with just a touch of bricking. Black currant, cherry and raspberry with cedar and tobacco undertones. Full-bodied with soft tannin and flavors of plum, currant and cherry. A delightful cab sauv and a perfect match for a couple of Morgan Ranch ribeyes. Heck of a value here.

A real difference of opinion at our table on this bottle. One of us enjoyed the plum notes and the off-dry nature; the other felt it was a bit too reminiscent of Dr. Pepper. Neither of us would turn it down if it were the only red on offer, but we won’t seek it out.

Black currant, roasted herbs. Some contradiction between the roast and a subtle aqueousness, which may have something to do with the brief finish. Completely understand why most posters like it slightly more than I do, but would need it to be a different vintage and/or even cheaper than the $5 I paid for me to consider getting again
