Wow is this wine good today! I was in the mood for just this kind of wine, and this is delivering. The aromas are a bit old, showing tar, stewed older dark fruits, like black raspberry and plum, some minerality, and a strong vibrancy despite what feels like a bit of age. The palate is bright, but deep and dark in texture and flavors... nice juxtaposition, showing nice acidity and tartness with an overall dark fruited expression, again with some older styled fruit, with mushrooms, tar, and wet tree bark. High kick of acid on the finish with wet bark, mild tannins remain, but it's the acid that carries this one. Beautiful stuff, and far better than what made me buy it 2 years ago. Also interesting that I enjoy this wine so much better than anyone else on cellartracker, for any vintage. Wonder what that's about; this is good juice! I just smiled as I looked at the clock and saw it was only 6:40pm... I'll be able to get through this whole bottle tonight! :-) Update: It does go down hill slightly as it's open, but it's so great with just 30 minutes air.

North Willamette Vintner's Wine Trail Weekend; 4/10/2010-4/11/2010: Nice nose... smells like worms crawling through dirt. Pretty funky and rancid. The funk carries onto the palate, which is nice, almost a bit oxidized though, though it is pleasing. Nice acids on the finish too.

Medium body, black cherry, minerality and light tannin.

Very strong aromas and flavors. The quintessential pinot noir. You can really taste the fruit in it.

Strangely cloudy, very disappointing.
