This is so much better than the average Zin (especially at this price point). Surprised that after 10+ years of cellaring, this Zin is still bursting with flavors....reminds me of the scene in "Alien" when the alien bursts out of John Hurts chest...Pour a glass of this wine and get ready for that burst of flavor...hopefully no chest wounds.

Blind tasting of three 2013 Zins, first place. This just edged out the Scherrer, with a ton of complexity and fruit: cranberry, raspberry, cedar, and just the right amount of acid. I think the Noceto zin flies a bit under the radar. It’s a nicely balanced zin that hits all the right notes, fully deserving of the top spot.

Fantastic. Night one it was more restrained and earthy with a core of bramble fruit in the background. Day 2 it is more spicy and herbaceous. Nicely balanced and fairly light.

Still in a nice place. Earthy, fruity, both fresh berries and dried fig. Good second day too.
