this is in a wonderful place. it could get better but not much. i have 3 left and will save to share with others as that is my joy. hard to imagine a better balance and lack of an after taste that annoys. it is special

I gave this one a 95 the last time I had one (two years ago). This wine has held its own. Based on the experience today, IF I had more of these (.....and I DON'T....ugh...), I would have NO reservation holding this for 15 more years. This is a big ol bottle for one. This one would stand shoulder to shoulder to a Carter bottle and has a (well deserved) attitude. Cork withdrew intact to an crazy dark violet with lotza "wine diamonds." Poured like motor oil into the glass. Nose was intense. Dark, dense youthful blackberry with a hint of black licorice, hint of blueberry and vanilla. Entry is blackberry pie right on the palate. All the feels of sitting down with a large chunk of Mom's blackberry pie were here. Blueberries and vanilla hit right after that. Roasted fig, black licorice, cinnamon and baking spice toward the finish. Black pepper roasted tannin that has softened. 30-45 second finish. I. Am. In. Love. We were blindsided by a 2014 Scion just 48 hours ago and now this!! I'll go out on a limb and say that this is the best Alexander Valley wine I've had to date, and this includes wines that are 2x the price with a lot bigger 'prowess.' This family in Alexander Valley is worth supporting and if you have not ordered or tasted any of their wines, you need to go to their website or call them NOW. Drink or hold this gem of a wine until 2035.

This wine followed a Frias Family 2014 Spring Mountain Cabernet and paired with pork ribs, slaw, and tomato/cucumber salad. This wine paired differently with the ribs than the Frias. A more medium++ density wine, black cherry and black licorice were ever present. This wine compared to the 12 we had a while back didn't seem to be as complex. Went well with the sides a little better than the ribs actually, but still this wine is substantial enough that I would not just put it on the table with nothing to pair it with. I'd say that this wine would probably go better with steak or prime rib vs. the Frias. The wine finishes with medium intensity, more white pepper on the finish. Very delicious.

Had it with turkey last night. Decanted for 4 hours. Very solid cab, dark color, good tanins and smooth. Excellent!
