Wowed by this wine. Big, heavy and bold with notes of dark plum, cashews, wet bramble, celery and tobacco. It all comes through tasting. It finishes with some acidity and tannins. This can wait quite a few years. I think in 3-4 years this would be a 89-90.

45% Syrah, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon 22% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot that sees 17 months in French and American oak barrels, and Hungarian puncheons, 33% new. Decanted. Huge aromas show barrel accent upfront; fresh cut cedar, cigar box, and charred oak lighten after generous air time. Camphor, violets and campfire scents give way to scents of blackberry, plum, blueberry, cassis and fig. Exotic spice, earth, herbs and ink scents are incorporated nicely. On the palate full bodied and concentrated. Showing medium-plus acidity firm, ripe tannins and flavors of brambly blackberry, blueberry and plum are supported by a frame of vanilla, herbs, cedar, pepper, spice, and earth. True to its name this inky wine has depth and finishes with length and intensity. Needs air or bottle age to show its best.
