First WS wine I have that disappoints. Muted nose, pronounced acidity, lacking extract on the palate and short on the finish. Hope it was just this bottle.

I was worried that I had let this one sit too long in the cellar so we grabbed it to go with a casual dinner on the patio. We were surprised how good it still was. Color still very much intact. Not that I would let it go much longer we think it is still in the peak zone and drinking beautifully. Still some fruit present but it was balanced by a med-long finish of stoniness and dust which gave the wine an interesting character. Maybe it was because ‘14 is such a good vintage but considering it was a low-end WS, it exceeded expectation. Wish I would have bought a lot more of this. We both agreed it deserved a higher rating because it has aged so well.

Clear, medium ruby-garnet core. Plum, asian spice and cherry on the nose. Dry, but showing lots of ripe, jammy fruit upfront. Lush and delicious, this is a fun and exuberant bottle, showing little or no age.

Still tasting very good. Cranberry, herbs, a bit of earth, with good acidity, and a medium length finish.

“Meh” is a complement.
I have had, and have, many WS in my cellar. Hopefully this was a outlier for the 2014 vintage.
Opening this bottle was as uninspiring as opening a can of ocean spray cranberries and telling your guests it is “cranberry sauce” on Thanksgiving.
Muddled visually, texturally and on the palate, just like the OS canned cranberries.
Otherwise a little juicy with slight acidic finish.
Just calling it as it is.
