  • Nose of sliced, ripe strawberries sprinkled with sugar, with a hint of animale. Complex palate of super ripe cherries, sweetened dried cranberries, green herbs, dried beef, some vegetal, with good midpalate depth. The wine has a silky texture, fairly low acidity and medium length. This is a far more generous wine than i recall from a year ago, and while it may continue to improve in the short term it is definitely ready to go now. At times it felt a little too round and soft, but mostly it was just lovely. This was a steal at $10 on closeout. Label says "Ripasso Method" in small letters.

  • smells like sweet cherries, that were lightly touching the earth, with a delicate bend of strawberry capturing the nose and then throwing you off with a wildflower. gordo is congested so he smells a prune glazed with licrorice and ending with easter ham only to throw him completely off when he tastes a sweet flower. With a wonderful finish enough of a kick but not overpowering. Silky and smooth....like a Mercedes

  • Typical Corvina nose of bright red currants and cherries, with spicy black pepper and a touch of leather and raisins on the palate. Not a huge amount of fruit but a really nice, balanced wine with plenty of chewy tannins and a respectable finish. One of the more interesting Valpos I've had and an outstanding value for $10, I will definitely get more of this.
