Decent. Pale garnet. Slightly perfumed. Not exceptional, but quite pleasant fruit on the palate, quite acid driven. I felt it was smoother after being open for a while. I'm not sure aging would help too much, as it might loose flavour as the acid mellows, but decanting for an hour certainly helps.

As I said before, this is a comparatively light styled Pinot Noir, certainly lighter in comparison to other SA Pinot’s such as Hamilton Russell or other Hemel en Aarde examples. Pleasurable.

Light - the alcohol is a refreshing 13% only - but not light in flavour with nice bramble fruit and earthy undertones. I would not say Burgundian but this wine proves how unnecessary that is.

Beautiful burgundy color. Less tannic than the 2010 vintage I had recently tasted. Burgundian style. Nice nose, earthy with spice, cinnamon and flowers. Newly ripening red fruit on the palate and finish. 89
