  • I don't drink much Bordeaux but on being immediately poured this seems to me to be very young. Nevertheless, quite expressive nose. Cedar. Mixed forest floor fruits - just barely ripe - blackberry but also some dark red cherry. No more than medium plus weight. Modest alcohol. Refreshingly little oak. Bright acid leading to some drying tannins that take up residence in the gums. Elegant. But there is still little nuance and real complexity. It's all a bit straightforward. Commendable for what it is but I think it will be far more interesting in another ten years. It tastes like it has just left the starting gate. But such is the way with Cabernet. My challenge with this is the intractability of the grape variety in its first two decades. Perhaps those who drink more Cabernet than I will find it currently more rewarding. But to my taste this needs a good while yet before it will be truly interesting. Bought on release.

  • On the elegant side of Bordeaux. As a burgundy drinker, I liked more than I expected. Went well with rack of lamb

  • This has some complexity and depth, but less of the fragrance and finesse that I would look for in a Margaux. The main impression is that it would benefit from a few more years in the cellar, but the last drops from the decanter had a raisiny aroma, so I would be nervous about leaving it too long. In general, I am not convinced that it is worth the $50 or so that it currently costs.

  • Excellent - cabernet based left back bordeaux at 12.5% alcohol. Dark and inky but also really fresh. I'm unsure of the aging potential but it feels like it might be fun with more age.

  • Very nice, well balanced and No holes. Smooth, and elegant. Earthy tones on the nose: Black cherry, leather, granite, and dry river bed. Dark ruby core. Good concentration and nice lively notes. Decant for half an hour. Went well with rack of lamb.
