Black cherry nose, with just a whiff of alcohol. Smooth palate, with nice aged fruit and subtle oak. Really nice wine at $19. Slowly fading but should last another year.

Bought for 30 at a local sidewalk bistro's half-price wine night (wine list price = 60; no Searcher Pro US price but best for recent vintages is about 25/b). No decant, none needed (surprising for 8yo). Purple color difficult to judge in evening light; mature red fruit nose (redcurrant, bit of fresh plum) that follows on the palate plus some grapey-ness, some oak; good- mouthfeel. This was tasty, a bit complex, but that took some digging. Given the lack of sediment, I wonder if this was too filtered. Only re-buy would be at the bistro. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable when considering quality, age, and discounted restaurant price.
