  • First time back to this wine since late 2002, and it was well worth the wait. The aromatics are dominated by honey, spice and ripe peach. The wine is only medium bodied, showing like a more classical auslese that the super-sized, muscle bound near-TBAs that pass for modern auslese. Pretty, lithe and with no shortage of sustain, the wine carries on for as long as one cares to let it. A finishing lick of acidity and essence of peach carry on and on. Just a delightful wine in a near perfect drinking window.

  • Pale gold. Nose of citrus and applesauce with cinnamon and clove. Taste was modestly sweet-about Spatlese level, rich, a touch acid lifting the finish; applesauce, lemon and caramel sweetness. Very good.
