  • Cloudy, orange/amber hue. Decanted and kept in wine fridge. Initially tight and pretty mute in the way of aromas or flavors. Took about 2h in decanter for the wine to open. Now 3h after decant. Beautiful, complex aromas of ginger, flowers, mild honeysuckle, orange zest, clove, mild cinnamon, and the barest whiff of VA that accents and heightens all the aromas. Tart apples, ginger, orange zest, flowers, herbs and grapefruit pith. Medium tannins on midpalate with excellent acids on a medium-full bodied frame. Moderately long finish of apples, flowers, and spices. Not usually the biggest fan of single variety roussanne but this is drinking really well. Complex, juicy, savory and different. A lovely orange wine.

  • Nice and tasty. At first reticent on the nose and a bit austere on the palate, probably because it was served too cold. Lots of tartrate sediment. Blooms into a middle-weight and totally dry Rousanne, redolent of pineapple, citrus, and tropical fruit, perhaps just a touch watery and lacking in concentration, but otherwise nicely balanced with stony minerals and juicy acid.

  • Wine Tasting Group (11/12/2017): Opened 1h before. Cloudy orange. Closed aromas.Apple, citrus, apricot fruits and earth upfront on palate with tannins and herbs coming up in the mid-palate. Finish is long with palate flavors coming in waves. Wished I could have gone back to this later in the night to see if this opened up more. There's a lot of good material here so I'll hold the next bottle for a couple of years and see. I prefer this version more than most regular roussannes.

  • The 2015 Stone crusher is very tannic and has an abundance of orange and peach notes. Acidity is rather broad and lacks some focus. This wine screams for some food pairing but has a strong personality. Personally I preferred the style of the 2014 Stone Crusher more.
