Feinherb at 10% alcohol per the label, but the creaminess of the fruit seems to have it much closer to the norm for spatlese than anything in the trocken family. That represents a significant change from how this showed on release, when it was much leaner and paler. The fruit is still on the racy side with its lemon/lime flavors notwithstanding all that creamy flesh, but you can actually call this rich now without any tradeoff in terms of freshness or energy. The sourness I noted a few years ago is still a factor, but with the fruit showing so much fuller and sweeter overall, it's nice to have something more tart as a complement.

A very quaffable Riesling in a light, off-dry style that kind of reminds me of a lot of Finger Lakes efforts. The emphasis is on the pale pineapple/pear flavor fruit and it performs best with a chill. At warmer temperatures, the fruit turns sour, the sugar is more obvious, and there's an uncomfortable alcoholic burn on the back end. In many ways this is actually built like a Kabinett, but the contrast with the Kabinett is evident in the thicker fruit here. But all in all, the Kabinett is the more complete and complex wine today.

Stewed cooked fruit with some sugar added and low acidity. Probably flawed but still drinkable very cold.
