  • Un nez sensationnel, c'est profond, violette, fruits mure, viandé tout en gardant la typicité du Pinot. Beaucoup de matière avec une longue finale. Merveilleux maintenant mais peu tenir la route un autre 5-7 ans sans problème. Pourrait faire rougir certain Grand Cru. Délicieux !

  • equally as enjoyable as one nearly a year ago, performing consistently; dark cherry red w/paler rim; youthful funk & roasted black-skinned fruit nose, densely-fruited & intense tonight, should be good for a decade at least.

pan-roasted prime strip, chanterelles in buttery rosemary pan juices; roasted cauliflower, creamy sauce verte

  • decanted 30 min (some fine wispy sediment), in the glass for a couple hours.

med cherry-skin red, faintly paler at edge; extroverted nose - ripe black cherry tones are elevated, floral, dark soil; med+ body; darkly-fruited palate impression is just beginning to move into it's secondary stage, youthful still; acids & tannins still developing, in sync & balanced.

doubtful this will ever show elegant or sophisticated, but it is deep, very good & pleasurable.

pan-roasted chicken thigh, rosemary & black pepper, wild mushroom ragôut; escarole braised w/garlic & buttermilk ranch; roasted tiny hakurei turnips & dutch gold potatoes, bacon fat & thyme

  • Decanted an hours before the dinner and it still improved in the glass. Great Pommard, intense nose with dark fruits, earthy notes and ethereal, concentrated, good acidity and smooth tannin, long finish. At its peak now but can go on for additional 6 to 8 years, unfortunately my last of 6 bottles.

  • Slight brownish rim, lots of dark berries, smoke, good acids, seductive sweetness, good length. Elegance and power. Will survive many more years, A beauty.

(J.M. Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Jarollières) Dark red violet color; floral nose with roses, caramel and coffee; tasty, high-pitched tart red fruit palate with coffee and caramel oak and good structure, though a little too oaky for my taste; medium finish (40 cases for the U.S.)($68 pre-arrival)
