Tested 11/25/22 a 2011 vintage. Beautiful Deep pale garnet color. Dark berries, chocolate, oak, earthy aromas and floral tones. Wine is still full body, light in tannins, the Sangiovese has aged to past its prime yet it has aquired a tone of elegance, still floral, the oak tones have increased but with smoothness and silkiness to the pallate as you can only find in well aged wines. Short finish with sone wood tone and acidity. Nice Chianti Classico. But needs to be drunk now.

I was mighty impressed by this. Superb colour still showing good garnet hints though now with significant browning. The noise was rich and well balanced between varietal, wood and age but the beauty was on the palate which exploded with complex nutty characteristics and still good fruit and a hint of lanolin and plums and just everything. On it's own it was excellent but a mouthful after a forkful of roast lamb and mint sauce it was explosive. Just fabulous. Drank it over a period of about 3 weeks under Coravin. Can't even remember where I got it originally!

I bought 4 of these through some service or other and am really regretting it. Drank this on a Monday night, and much like my previous notes there just isn't much from this bottle. Devoid of any interest. Not offensive, but what's the point.

Drank with meat bolognese and pasta. Smoothed out since our last endeavour with this wine. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, blackberry, cherry, plum, forest floor and vanilla. It tastes like strawberry, blackberry, raisin, cherry, stoniness and vanilla. The body is light/medium. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

A bit too sour for our taste. Drank with homemade meatballs and pasta. We will try again and let it breathe longer as it was better the 2nd day.
