Not decanted, consumed over ~2 hours. Dark cherry fruit with some spice and just the barest hint of something smoky/funky. Forward acidity, made prominent by a somewhat hollow midpalate. Straightforward, not particularly exciting Rhone syrah.

Good, straight-forward St. Jo with a smoky profile, some dried herbs, medium fruit and some minerality. This is one to PnP rather than linger too long. Solid choice for food pairing where a mid-weight wine with no frills and extra oak is called for. Very nice QPR on close-out at $11.

Likeable but not particularly complex.
