A full liter bottle imported by Terry Theise, which means it is his nomination for a drinkable best value wine. And that describes this wine in spades. Aromatic, bright citrus acidity, richly textured, delicious, and long. Gruner Veltliner is rightly famous for being a superb food match with green vegetables, such as peas and broccoli. But this wine is superb with a much wider range of foods, including pinto beans and spaghetti. Tried it side by side with Pinot Noir, and this was even better.

It's become more easy-going with age, but it's still very good.

Did something happen when they changed from crown caps to screw caps? Where is the lightness and minerality?

Pale off yellow. Far more creamy and less acidic than prior vintages. Less minerality. Pleasant, but not the usual crispness.
