  • Wonderful Cab. Smooth as silk but still good fruit.

  • An hour after pulling the cork, not decanted. This continues to come across as a mountain cab masquerading as a Bordeaux. Earth and faint tobacco leaf dominate the nose. First comes across the palate as soft cherries and other red fruit, but after a few seconds the fine grained tannins hit the front to mid palate, providing balance and length to the finish.

When sampled side-by-side in somm stems the tannins are much more integrated and less noticeable; also shows more cigar and some leather. Well, you know this is a cab dominant wine, I had to write to Sherwin just to see what if anything else is blended into this and smoke quantities. This is Consistently, unlike other, Napa cabs, and especially Napa mountains cabs this shows a unique balance and elegance.

Just a really great wine that still has several several years of life remaining. Bravo to the Patriotic Pour!

  • 2.5 hours slow ox. Old barrel, aged red cherry, leather and cigar smoke on the nose. Aromas carry across the palate and are old world in style. Aligned w my notes from 18 months back, this is a solid wine in the heart of its window.

While the mouthfeel was heavier in std stems, Somm's added complexity to the nose; though softer in the Somm's, interestingly the finish was longer.

Another solid wine from Steve and Linda, thanks and cheers to your rebuild on beautiful Sprint Mtn.

I've got 5 more bottles and will enjoy 3-4 of them by 2025 for optimal decadence. Will keep 1-2 longer just to test longevity.

  • Don’t usually rate wines this high but this was worthy. Took the previous reviewers advice and gave it a two hour decant after bringing it up to room temp for a few hours and this was just singing. Perfectly integrated and in the heart of the sweet spot drinking window. Just a gorgeous Napa estate Cabernet Bravo Sherwin family, couldn’t come from a nicer and more perserverant group of people.
