Nice golden color, pleasant aromas but boring flavors. Dry to medium-dry finish and low acidity. Some oak, vanilla and traditional Chardonnay characteristics but nothing exciting.

Funky nose of mushroom cream soup with wet mushy mushrooms and lots of ripe lemons. Unabashedly modern with its golden yellow colour and sweet ripe richly oaked palate. Needs more acidity.

Giant Deep-Sea Garoupa dinner with Chards and more. (Yuan Wei Deep-Sea Garoupa, Serangoon Road): About what you would expect from a run-of-the-mill Hunter Chard. Golden yellow colour, nodern styling with a nose showing buttered mushrooms, a funky durian-like whiff, some alcohol and musky, fleshy white fruit. Rich palate, lots of yellow fruit and some ripe lemons. A little flabby with all that weight. Finished in a short alcoholic end with buttery popcorn flavours with a sprinkling of mineral and a linger of sweet oak. Not undrinkable, but certainly not one I would buy.

Bad off nose - old wood or poor cork. OK for cooking maybe.

Sampled with strawberries and chocolate desert. Should have gone with the red.
