really needed 30min but better after 2 hours. Wonder if several hours in the decanter would have been best, I didn't have any left.
pretty dark fruit, definitely ripe possibly harvested some of the grapes past their peak. Noted that it got a little bit hotter with the alcohol than I would have preferred. I got a little red delicious apple peel character which was unique, some classic bordeaux cellar notes. Medium+ tannins pretty far back in the jaw. Hints of soy sauce appearing towards the 2 hour mark.
Paired with rare NY strip steak and cheese melted over roast potatoes, hearty fare and this was a good pairing for that. The best pairing was actually with the charred bits of the fat cap.

Decanted for 9hrs. Full bodied with notes of red and blue fruit, pencil lead and shaving, herb, and mushroom. Fine, but abundant tannin. Paired well with hanger steak and shallots, but probably needs 2 to 4 more years.

A pleasant cru Bourgeois. On nose: very shy.....faint mineral and light smoke...that is all. On palate: smoke, minerals, charcoal....aaaand....blueberries , tobacco, a ghost of soy sauce(?)also the expected tart cassis and a bit of bay leaf and coffee notes as well....a savoury young Bordeaux , with present tannins...similar to the 2014 Ch. La Gorce....unfortunately at a higher price point...good value at $22.00....but not $40.00.

Bit of bottle variation going on here as one tasting post my first bottle wasn't all that impressive but the last bottle hit its earlier heights. Blueberries dominate with the Merlot prevalent. Nice tannins and best on day 2.
