  • I am a lover of Gigondas. I think some of the better ones, like the Les Pallieres, Les Racines, rival a good CDP, and are profound.

This is quite obviously, not on a comparable level. It is quite primary, with some modest red fruit, and a nice bit of funk. But, the mouthfeel is lacking, the acids are unimpressive, the balance is weak, and there is not enough present, to offer anything more than a decent wine with dinner. This is a decent wine. Soft and easy drinking. But, that is about it. I would not seek it out.

  • Light ruby. All tobacco and garrigue. Medium weight with sappy core. Some dark red fruit that is not sweet at all, bark, citric acidity, moderate tannin. Traditional and very good. Could use a few years to unwind.
