Opened 30 minutes, not decanted. Cherry colour. Lovely deep, rich, complex nose of strawberries, caramel, pepper and damp wool with some earthiness. Palate is medium bodied, very dry, savoury and fruity. Luscious and opening up after 90 minutes. Drinking well now, will keep, but so good already it probably won't improve further.

{screwcap, 14.5%} Brickish colour. Spirity, brown leaf nose. Lifted and warm, but seems fast-maturing. Medium acid, low tannin, a little bit baked, can't quite escape the heat, shortish finish. Drink up fairly soon I reckon.

Tasted at the Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. From a very modern winery in Tasmania, this is great stuff. Heavenly nose of strawberries and hedgerow fruit. Smooth, rich, deceptively alcoholic at 14.5%. Great now, but will easily keep 3-4 years and might be better for keeping.

Needed a couple of hours to open up. Typical tassie Pinot with spice, very nice. Needs a good food match or the alcohol sticks out like a sore thumb.
